Chynna T. Laird - email lilywolf@telus.net - Web www.lilywolfwords.ca - In addition to living her dream building up her at-home freelance writing business (Lily Wolf Words), Chynna is also studying in Edmonton, Alberta (Canada) to obtain her B.A. in Psychology, specializing in Early Childhood Development. Her hobbies include writing, reading, playing piano and crafting with her girls. A lot of the material she writes about includes childhood experiences, her adventures as a Mom and her personal observations. She's won writing contests in ByLine magazine and her work has been published in various parenting, writing and inspirational magazines. As well, she has a personal essay featured in Chicken Soup For The Soul: Children With Special Needs. She is most proud of a children's picture book she's written called "I'm Not Weird, I Have SID" where she describes what it's like to live with Sensory Integration Dysfunction (Sensory Processing Disorder) through the eyes and voice of four-year old Alexandra. It's important to Chynna to continually grow and change in her craft so she takes writing courses such as children's literature, Long Ridge Writers' Group's Novel course and various advance fiction writing courses through University. She began as an Intern with WOW-womenonwriting in Spring of 2007 and is honored to now be a Contributing Editor writing for two monthly columns in WOW's Premium Green ebook newsletter. Chynna is a member of the Professional Writers Association of Canada (PWAC), The Writers-Editors Network as well as The Writers Guild of Alberta. She has also been given Press Cards through the PWAC and the Writers-Editors Network. Chynna has written her memoirs about life with her mother, who suffered with undiagnosed bipolar disorder and alcoholism (now in the editing/revision stages) and has two other nonfiction projects in the works. She also has a thriller novel on the go. Hopefully we'll see her on bookshelves soon!

Contributing writer for Fort Pierce: The Sunrise City. Comments: My sixteen-year stint in the Caribbean (USVI) before relocating to Florida often allows me a slightly off-center view of topics I write about. I research thoroughly, have a good eye for detail and submit exceptionally clean copy. I've spent most of the past 25 years in radio, beginning with a 90-minute live interview program five days a week on the CBS affiliate in the islands. I recently retired as host and producer of a daily arts interview show, as well as long-format specials, for the regional NPR affiliate in east-central Florida. In 2004, I received a national award, a Gabriel, for my special program, "Norman Dello Joio, A 90th Birthday Celebration." I've worked as a copy editor for the local Scripps Howard daily. Vero Beach Magazine, a four-color glossy, signed me on as editor-in-chief for the launch issue, but I quickly found that the freelance life was more to my liking. I have produced annual special interest calendars, designed print ads, written radio copy, made a living as a faux finish artist, and am working on a Web site aimed at teaching women to be independent. I'm a volunteer with Women Build: Habitat for Humanity. I write columns on Florida artists and authors for Coastal Boating. Writing style? Conversational, irreverent or humorous, as warranted, but I take the imparting of information very seriously. I'm best reached via e-mail.
